Spectral Class O
Astronomers can spend an entire career’s worth of time studying specific types of stars. If you could choose one spectral or luminosity class of star or one area of the H-R Diagram on which to focus, what would you choose, and why? How do you consider your chosen area interesting? How do you consider it to be important?
While it is imperative that stars are classified into the same spectral class as a result of similar composition, temperature, size, and other features, I would focus on the spectral class O, which is the hottest spectra. My preference for the spectral class would be founded on the need to establish the link or correlation between luminosity and heat levels. This is because high temperatures, as well as luminosity, characterizes the spectral class. I find the study of the spectral class O stars quite interesting due to the high caution and preparedness that needs to be taken to consideration when studying the same since it would be hard to schedule human visits to such a hot region. On the other hand, the relevance of studying the class O spectral class to establish the link between the high temperatures and luminosity would be a great source of knowledge in astronomy and other sciences…………
